Polyester flexible heating element

Polyester flexible heating element

SKU: 004

Polyester flexible heating elements are extremely thin, allowing them to conform easily to a wide variety of surfaces, including plastics and metals. This design ensures rapid and uniform heat transfer.

The even thermal distribution prevents irregular thermal expansion while maximizing power efficiency and utilization.

The polyester insulation supports a maximum operating temperature of 120°C. A high-performance adhesive backing provides secure and straightforward attachment to steel, plastic, and other surfaces.

Thanks to etched foil technology, these elements can be fully customized to meet specific customer requirements—including shape, dimensions, voltage, and power output. This high degree of flexibility makes them ideal for a broad range of applications.

ADVANTAGES OF POLYESTER FLEXIBLE HEATING ELEMENTS

Polyester flexible heating elements (especially those using etched foil technology) offer several practical advantages, making them a smart choice for many low-to-moderate temperature applications.

They're extremely thin and lightweight, often just a fraction of a millimetre thick, which lets them conform easily to curved, irregular, or flat surfaces—whether plastic, metal, or other materials—without adding much bulk or weight. This is particularly helpful in space-constrained designs or where minimising mass matters.

They deliver rapid warm-up times and very uniform heat distribution across the entire surface. The etched foil design creates a large contact area with precise, repeatable patterns (including complex shapes or varying watt densities in different zones), which helps eliminate hot spots, reduces uneven expansion, and makes the heating more efficient and consistent.

This even heating also translates to better energy efficiency—they often run at lower wattages while still achieving the desired temperature quickly, which can save power and extend the heater's lifespan.

They're highly customisable: manufacturers can tailor the exact shape, size, voltage, power output, and even specific heat zones to match unique requirements, opening the door to a wide variety of uses—from consumer electronics and appliances to medical devices, food warming, or de-icing components.

The polyester insulation and strong adhesive options provide reliable bonding to surfaces (like steel or plastics) and support continuous operation up to around 95–105°C (with some variants rated higher for short periods), while keeping costs relatively low compared to more extreme-temperature alternatives like silicone or polyimide heaters.
