Finned Tubular Heating Element
SKU: RHR
Finned tubular heating elements are based on a RHK type heaters. The surface area is enlarged by a strip in order to heat gases. At a high power the surface temperature is small and the heating element is short.
WHAT ARE FINNED TUBULAR HEATING ELEMENT - TYPE RHR?
Finned tubular heating elements Type RHR from Türk+Hillinger are high-performance air and gas heating solutions based on robust RHK-type tubular heaters. A steel strip (fin) is helically wound around the tubular sheath, significantly enlarging the surface area. This design enhances heat transfer to the surrounding medium through increased turbulence while allowing higher thermal loading compared to standard tubular heaters.
Key specifications typically include an 8.5 mm base tube diameter with overall finned diameters of 20 mm or 28 mm, a 5 mm fin pitch, and sheath materials such as CrNi-steel (1.4541/AISI 321) for temperatures up to 550–700°C or mild steel options. Elements are available straight or bent, with various connection types (e.g., bolts, leads, threaded bolts, or tabs).
ADVANTAGES OF FINNED TUBULAR HEATING ELEMENT - TYPE RHR:
The finned design delivers several key benefits for air and gas heating applications:
Superior heat transfer and efficiency: The enlarged surface area and induced turbulence allow for higher watt densities and more effective heating of gases or air, often resulting in shorter heater lengths for the same power output.
Lower surface temperatures: Reduced sheath temperatures minimise the temperature differential with the medium, improving safety, energy efficiency, and product quality.
Application-specific benefits:
In ventilation and air conditioning: Minimised deposition of combustible dust.
In drying systems: Gentle, even treatment of goods with uniform temperature distribution.
In paint/varnish dryers: Lower maximum surface temperatures extend heater lifetime.
In shrink wrapping: Stable temperature dissipation prevents overheating of films.
Compact and durable: Higher loading capacity in a smaller footprint, with proven reliability in industrial environments when properly applied.
These elements excel wherever controlled heating of air or gaseous media is required with minimal temperature gradients and high reliability.
